Leadership and Training Program (LTP)

LTPs are those students who are in Grade 8 and Grade 9. Our Leadership and Training Program, a two week session, prepares these campers for leadership roles both at camp and in their communities. During this time, the LTP will work with their peers at developing leadership skills and learning from our staff mentors. Under the supervision of the LTP Co-ordinator, our LTP’s also rotate within different placements at camp. Placements can be taken with a cabin group of children in any unit in the Traditional Camp, in the Sports Camp or in the Arts & Science Camp. LTPs will receive ongoing informal evaluations throughout their placements and at the end of the two week session will receive a formal evaluation from their Co-ordinator. LTPs will also receive specific training on how to create and lead programs for children in a recreational setting. Upon successful completion of the program, LTPs will receive a certificate of completion and a letter of recommendation which will greatly benefit their ability to pursue leadership opportunities both at camp and in the community.

Special Events and Theme Days

We have many special unit wide and camp wide theme events throughout the summer. These special event days give our campers and staff the chance to mix it up from their regular schedule of activities. Theme programs in the past have included Carnival, Wild Wild West, Campabana, High School Musical, Disney and Pirates of the Caribbean. Campers dress up, play games and eat foods unique to the theme. Unit and camp wide events add spirit and camaraderie at camp.

Extended Nights

In certain weeks of camp all campers are invited to participate in an extended night at camp. We enjoy another a pizza dinner, scavenger hunt, songs, and lots of fun and crazy field games. Camp is an awesome place all day, but it’s really cool when you have it all to yourself to share with your friends in the evening.
